I personally dont shop there much because even their "sale" items are often more expensive than the regular price at other places.
I guess if one took the effort to price shop and buy the food city brands where they could it may pay off in the long run.

absolutely.
First, FC is my main place - not worth driving another 5 miles to Save-a-lot when they don't have half the stuff I want, anyway.
Wal-Mart is an extra 30 miles and they don't carry all the stuff, either (like Product 19).
FC brands (5 of em) vary on quality and is about 30-50% cheaper -just buying their bread, veggies, eggs & milk saves me about $3 a week. From there, it's not hard to get to $10 (stuff like corn flakes, pork skins, cheese popcorn, pickled beets, ice cream sandwiches, pies and buns are good once-a-month items).
